Keeping Up With the Wanderlust Vegans: April 2018

If you missed last month's update, find it here: It's March and Spring is Finally Here!

That old broken finger is healing nicely and is giving us the travel bug. When something major enough happens in your life, you start to think about your life as it is. I broke a tiny little finger and was laid off my job. I sat at home reading my books and searching for holidays online. The wanderlust is still very strong. It doesn't help that I am on facebook all day and my friends are travelling Asia, Africa and Europe. I wanna go too!!!

This month our vegan guide is for Minneapolis. We had a great time eating our way around this city (Remember we share a new Vegan Guide the second Sunday of every month).

The annual Brant festival came around again and we loved seeing all the carvings. We went last year too, for a glimpse of the festival watch our video from last year.
People are so talented, it was hard to believe that some of the carvings started out as a hunk of wood.

We added a few more posts about our road trip across Canada to our Travel Diary blog: wanderlustveganstravels.blogspot.ca  See the newest posts on our road trip: How NOT to look Suspicious at a border-crossing,  Journey through Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and North DakotaSummer Swim in Osoyoos Lake and Beautiful British Columbia: The Best Place on EarthAnd that is all of our travel diaries from our road trip! Looks like we need another adventure now!

Coach and Horses where we tried the famous Beyond Meat burger introduced a vegan menu to their pub! The vegans around here are thrilled. We went back to check it out and tried the BBQ Pulled Jackfruit sandwich. It was very good. We are excited to try other items on their new menu.
A highlight of our month was looking after these adorable little kitties. They do like to trick you into feeding them again, right after they have been fed. Cat sitting reminded us of the time that we cat sitted when we first got back to Canada. Pet sitting is a good way to find accommodation when visiting somewhere.

For our travel tips this month we shared what we would have done differently on our road trip across Canada.  'What we Would've CHANGED About our 2 Month Road Trip' (Remember to check back the third Sunday of every month for more travel tips from us.)

Spring is here on Vancouver Island, we took advantage of this beautiful weather with a walk along the ocean. I also took this opportunity to get some shots of my yoga poses with a gorgeous backdrop. For those of you interested these poses are: Standing Back Bend, Crow, and Compass.
For our new spotlight series, we now introduce you to Vegan Travellers.  We will post about new vegan travellers the fourth Sunday of every month. This month we introduced you to 6 more vegan travellers and asked them "Which city did you find to be the most vegan-friendly that you have travelled to?!"

Since this month has five Sundays we put together Our Guide to Living a Frugal Lifestyle. We are hoping it will help you in your own savings and travels!

We have had such lovely weather here on Vancouver Island.  We went for a walk in Ladysmith on the waterfront and also drove to Duncan to try out the new vegan cafe there, Cafe la Vie. We had banana bread, pepperoni sticks and a Greek Salad 'chicken' wrap with potato and corn chowder. It was all delicious and I highly recommend going there if you find yourself in Duncan.
Stay tuned for next month as we travel back to England.
